Romsley villagers won't pay for green bin collection

Today being Wednesday the 11th March 2009, here in Romsley we get the first green bin collection service that the council are charging us extra for.
After walking around the estate this morning, I counted just 43 orange stickers on green bins showing these people are willing to pay the extra tax for a service that was once included with our collection of refuse before the bin system was rolled out to us.
The residue of people in the village have signed my petition saying that they will not pay and these amount to hundreds shown in the picture taken.
It's assessed that at least £10,500 that the council expected to collect will not now be collected.
For we in Romsley will not pay or ever pay.

7:50am Thursday 12th March 2009: DO the people who pay Council Tax to Bromsgrove District Council realise that the council has found a way to beat the five per cent capping rate placed on them by the government and is it legal?
By taking away the service of green bin collection from us and introducing a £30 charge to retain the service, they have effectively increased the Council Tax by 2.7 per cent based on a B classification.
This then makes the Council Tax increase 7.7 percent for 2009-2010.
An explanation is required for this fact!

We condsider Craig's family, friends and relations, we also consider people everywhere in villages with almost zero support, our constant request to Police via the PACT meetings have fallen on stoney ground.
WE HAD ANOTHER BLAG AT THE SWALLOWS NEST CHRISTMAS WHERE THIS COULD HAVE BEEN NASTY?!
A young lady living at the public house at 4am disturbed four burglars when she came downstairs, fortunately they fled even though the goods they were stealing were ready to be taken out to their awaiting van...here in the village we were told nothing of this occurence by Police, we have to find out from people working at the public house?

We personally also used the stores regularly, my wife especially every Friday evening on the way home from work, regarding CCTV, we did say at either end of the village CCTV could be installed....we do not use a murder lightly to get our villages safer, we use it to protect us of future attacks and we are at present here in Romsley village collecting signatures to ask if the villagers want to install CCTV..our Post Mistress Tina has thanked me personally for bringing light to the dangers she goes through every day the post office is opened. The owner of the Post office has also thanked me, see the interview with him?- Tina was threatened last year and was very upset about it as she was on her own!
We are trying to address the issue in a practical way, the BBC have also said that more needs to be done in villages where we have no Police support and more campaigns like mine/ours need to occur, the villagers have also commented on getting better security to which we are now discussing how it can be carried through. At our last weeks meeting it was suggested that Police now issue an id card for people that wish to call at people's houses and business's. Here in Romsley village we suffer with many bogus callers, vandalism on shops and houses, fences, people will no longer walk freely at night as they used to.
We have now removed the photograph of Craig at the request of an anonymous writer and convey apologies if it was taken wrongly(never inferred to be bad taste as the writer said it was), but we have only received one complaint, but one is enough for us to act, please note that all supporters of better security in Romsley village are applying their names and addresses to the petition and that anonymous signatures will not be accepted as we wish to have a concrete cae for better security for us here in our village.
Again we sincerely apologise if it was taken in bad taste, but here in Romsley village we aim to get ourselves protected and the only way is to stand up and be counted, this is what we are all doing in the village.

I have now personally, after being fl ooded out with no interest from Mr Hollingworth, placed with the Local Government Agency, a complaint on how our storm water system is not
looked after. It’s blatantly obvious it has no maintenance programme and what is set in place is a joke, due to the present contractors now being sacked
from their job, which I have now had confi rmed by the new contractors. We saw a metre of rain in the main lane in and out of Romsley last Sunday. Council said we’ve done it,
we’ve cleaned it out, all the gulleys. If so, how come parish council chairman Ivan Hodgetts was out in his wellies digging out the ditches at 9am with water up to his knees so
people could walk along it later in the morning? I stopped in my car and said, ‘You shouldn’t have to do this’, we have a leader of a council that says it’s all been done.
His reply was, ‘if only’, plus a bit more!

The £Billions we pay to the EU would mean our council tax could be just around £100 per year with all these savings then spent instead on 'our' roads, hospitals, schools, prisons...but more of our money is in fact spent on building up a POLICE STATE!!

swept.
88% felt fly tipping to be a problem in the District.
1 in 5 (20%) felt that fly tipping was promptly removed when reported.
7 out of 10 (69%) were satisfied with the Refuse Collection Service.
All true apart from last one where here in Romsley a petition counted 191 against the Green bin being charged for!

There was no poll results on if people were satisfied with drainage in theiir areas, niether were if roads and footpaths were acceptable, condition wise, nor was asked do you feeel your councillor is responsive to your complaints and isssues and were they resolved effectively....

West Midlands Strategic Health said the public were never consulted when they decided to put Fluoride in the tap water supply here in Bromsgrove in 1985..Fluoride is na poison and is on the poisons register!!!

The type of fluoride used in the water supply is a waste toxin. It has no benefit to the majority of drinkers i.e. adults. If children have bad teeth then the parents should be held responsible for their condition. Fluoride toothpaste is readily available, so children should use that. Poisons should not be added to our water supply under any circumstances.

The side effects are numerous and varying, most are deadly. Symptoms are widespread and include among them Alzheimers disease, hardening of arteries, neural damage to brain functioning, brittle bones (needing hip replacements for instance), de-calcification of bones by calcium being replaced by flourine as it is more "available" than calcium as an element.
That fluoride is a dangerous substance is not disputed. A child swallowing 2-3 flouride tablets will die within a couple of hours for instance or to put it another way, swallowing a whole tube of fluoride toothpaste will make one extremely ill and for a small child, can prove fatal.
There are numerous such cases reported but are kept quite...yet it is still added to "prevent" tooth decay. The only effective solution unfortunately is to prevent the substance from entering your body. There is no safe limit as even small amounts are toxic given the fact that it accumulates in the body and after several decades of build-up will cause serious defects.
Pregnant women are particularly vulnerable and it is one of the contributory factors leading to autism.

take an emergency vehicle, or will it get stuck in traffic the way
we do on our way to the centre of Bromsgrove to do our shopping?..for this site is on a very busy road into Bromsgrove where we already find it hard to get into and shop?
Further, why doesn’t Bromsgrove District Council take on this massive
building for themselves? They could then employ more people to shuffl e
pieces of paper that start at the entrance, go round and round in circles
and then get binned - for that’s how many people feel about this white
elephant council that’s overpaid and full of its own self-importance.
One day people of Bromsgrove will rid themselves of this anchor on
our services and, when they do, we can start getting our monies worth.
This is only being sold to fetch in money to the county council to even
up the wasted hard earned money from us workers who have to prove
our worth before we are paid. We hear we need more housing,
so this building could be converted and attract council tax, or is there
another reason to pull it down? The truth from a council is very
rare these days. We will all agree on that won’t we?
The agreement of the sale of this beautiful building will be made
between Bromsgrove District Council and Worcestershire County Council
because they are both run by the same political party and both leaders
see eye-to-eye and that’s our problem. We are run by a political party and
not by people in the real world! The public do not come into the
consultation of keeping buildings for architectural benefi ts, we are only
there to vote them in and if people had longer memories, we would
get these issues attended to with a positive by not using political parties
to decide on our public services in the future.

Join us and add your thoughts and issues on how you would like to see Clent Division in the future with an Independent councillor as opposed to a Party political one that we have always had that's given us close to Zero public services, like the drains blocked and holes in roads that many motorits have received burst tyres on and also broken suspensions...these claims the Council have had to pay out on and we the tax payer pays these claims with our council tax money!
Poor service, this one example being the flooding we have had and are still experiencing and now proven to be down to no maintenance programme of our storm water and sewerage that the councillor elected in 2005 Councillore Ed Moore for the CLENT DIVISION should have overseen..and plainly did not!-
Another example is the deplorable condition our roads have got into to which County Councillor Ed Moore has allowed, further more, he IS also the Chairman on the Committee for Highways, so there's no excuses?
-AT EVERY ROMSLEY PARISH COUNCIL MEETING WE'VE ASKED FOR ROADS TO BE ATTENDED TO AND DRAINS AND SO HAS THE CHAIRMAN OF THE COUNCIL...Answer was-NO MONEY FROM ED MOORE!-But he and Leader of the County Council George Lord can find money to use to benefit the Tory Party when it comes up to an ELECTION can he not, PLUS Taxi rides(read below??)-Like we get a few holes filled in that reappear weeks later?-this money is your wasted money by the way!

The issues in our Clent Division are important us all, we pay a lot of money now- Double that of 2002...we don't want the money wasted!

Ivan Hodgetts the chairman of Romsley parish Council regularly comes out to clear the road to get the water to run away in St Kenelm's Road.
We are not looking for a Scape-Goat, but looking for the people who didn't do their job, ignored the job or couldn't care less?
Ed Moore did not turn up for one meeting in Romsley village for two whole years!!

A TORY COUNCILLOR CANNOT STRESS THE IMPORTANCE OF AN ISSUE ON BEHALF OF US THE ELECTORATE TO A PARTY LEADER OF A COUNTY COUNCIL FOR FEAR OF BEING SUSPENDED FOR 6 MONTHS, MY ANSWER IS SIMPLE-IF YOU CAN'T DO THAT, THEN WHY BE A PARTY COUNCILLOR AT ALL??
TO CONTINUE....We the people pay for these PUBLIC services, they don't come FREE!!

My Letter that Appeared in Bromsgrove Standard Friday November 22nd 2008
I have now personally, after being flooded out with no interest from Mr Hollingworth, placed with the Local Government Agency, a complaint on
how our storm water system is not looked after. It’s blatantly obvious it has no maintenance programme and what is
set in place is a joke, due to the present contractors now being sacked from their job, which I have now had
confi rmed by the new contractors. We saw a metre of rain in the main lane in and out of Romsley last
Sunday. Council said we’ve done it, we’ve cleaned it out, all the gulleys. If so, how come parish council
chairman Ivan Hodgetts was out in his wellies digging out the ditches at 9am with water up to his knees so
people could walk along it later in the morning? I stopped in my car and said, ‘You shouldn’t have to do this’, we have
a leader of a council that says it’s all been done. His reply was, ‘if only’, plus a bit more!

'Bromsgrove District Council have nothing to do with drainage or cleaning thereof apart from B.D.Housing Trust own houses, you will have to contact Worcestershire County Council and Severn Trent."

Mike Bell of 'Steet Scene' Bromsgrove District Council said this...
"Mike Bell, head of street scene for Bromsgrove District Council, said the drainage system and
road gullies are the responsibility of the County Council and it should monitor them and clean them as necessary. "
DID YOU HEAR & READ THAT COUNCILLOR ED MOORE?

YOUR RESPONSIBILTY AND THAT'S FROM THE BDCOUNCIL TELLING YOU?
My reply was then...to Roger Hollingsworth...
'You said you had a Partnership with Worcestershire County Council, SO IF THEY DON'T KNOW THAT DRAINS AND GULLEYS ARE BLOCKED and you don't TELL THEM, how do they get sorted?... So the County are responsible for floods right across Clent Divison, or is it all spin we hear?'
Can this Tory controlled council tell the truth I ask?
AND WHY DO WE GET CONTINUED POOR SERVICES?----Blame the electors that put them there is what many people tell me?
IS IT A STATUS THING?-Do people feel they are middle class if they vote Tory and still feel that way when they are ignored by the same Tory Party when they ask for services to be provided?-I would say to these people, wake up, it's 21st century and it's you people that's stopping us from getting these services to us that we have paid for in advance....

The people of that area Elected an independent MP Richard Taylor and retained the Kidderminster Hospital for all of us to use, remembering that LABOUR, TORY AND LIB DEMS IGNORED THE NEEDS OF THE PEOPLE?
AND BACK TO US.......
Romsley paid in last year over £1,500,000(£1.5millions) in council tax and the only services they see delivered are those we pay extra for from the Parish Council..and these services are included in the council tax in other areas, that don't pay the extra?
Also...I said in my letter to Roger Hollingsworth-
Council tax payers in Bromsgrove pay towards 60% of Bromsgrove District Housing trust running costs and this includes attending to their drainage and running out with sand bags..Private owners that use the same system can go to hell THEN??
After this exchange of words I was told I would no longer be able to ask any further questions regarding services to Romsley village or Bromsgrove due to the tone being unacceptable to him!..may I say that no expletives were purveyed, I made it plainer because I had been ignored and I don't like being ignored, and when I am it irritates me, especially by people that feel they are above you!
Ladies and genetlemen of Clent Divison, we have a free society to speak whenever we like, but the Council's now state otherwise, 'even' their own Councillors cannot quiz their own Party for POOR SERVICES for if they do they are threatened by their own Party Whips and if pushed will suspend one of their own councillors for a period of 6 months, so if they cannot and I cannot push for better services, WHERE are we going?
BUT AN ELECTED INDEPENDENT COUNCILLORE CAN PUSH AS MUCH AS HE LIKES!!!
SO WE GO TO MORE ON FLOODS.

YOUR COUNTY COUNCILLOR ED MOORE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ENSURING THAT DRAINS ARE ON A PROGRAMME FOR REGULAR CLEANING AND ALSO ROAD REPAIRS..THEY ARE BLATANTLY NOT- ARE THEY!
So please contact us with your stories and issues, we have plenty here in Romsley village and if I am elected will collate all and we then go forward to get our monies worth, heaven's above everyone, isn't that why we pay the tax??
